As compared to a 1" section of foam insulation in a typical ice chest, that will hold ice for 5 days at 80 degrees F, the SIPS wall and roof sections are 3 1/2" to 12 1/2" of insulation foam. Consider this; a coffee cup, 1/16" of foam insulates 210 degree F coffee so your fingers are not burned.

Oak Ridge National Laboratories performed an extensive, closely monitored test, in a controlled environment, and concluded that SIPS are 15 times less air infiltration than conventional construction. The testing compared a room built with 4 1/2" SIP walls and ceiling, window, door, wire, chases and electrical outlets, to an otherwise identical room built from 2x6 walls, OSB sheeting, fiberglass insulation and drywall.

The stated insulation for the 6" wall is R-19 and for the 4 1/2" SIP walls is R-15/ Even though the conventional wall was a 25% higher "R" value, the SIP wall performed 88% better than the conventional wall.

The results in Energy Savings are dramatic, when comparing a SIP built home to a conventional 2x4 built home, in fact your energy bill can be as much as 50% less and your A/C system size is typically sized 60% less than conventional homes. SIP homes qualify under the DOE's Energy Star Program, resulting in savings in your energy bills throughout the life of the structure.

Few if any, factory built structure designs offer the flexibility of a SIPS system. Each Sips homeowner and or contractor has a variety of options tailored to meet their individual needs. Structural panels can be anywhere from 1 1/2" to 12 1/2" thick, and use either EPS or XPS foam in 1 to 2 pound densities.

We have the capability to convert your plans assisting you in your dream home. Additional engineering services are available by highly skilled Professional Engineers licensed in many states.

We also offer fully designed "quiet floor systems" and beams to meet your needs.

Most designs and floor plans can be constructed on a slab, crawl space, or basement

Interior partitions can be located to accommodate personal preference not structural requirements.

The placement and kinds of windows are highly flexible.

"L" or "U" shaped floor plans can be utilized to make the best use of smaller less costly lots.

The building exterior can be anything from a castle to a cabin.  Exterior finishes may be done in a variety of ways to meet your local building codes.

bullet

Due to the energy, efficiency of the structure, a smaller heating and cooling system can be used.

The system is efficient enough that some homeowner's can be his or her own contractor. Those owners who choose to do some work themselves not only gain satisfaction for their effort, but also contribute to the value of the structure.

Both Builder and homeowner benefit from the efficiencies of SIPS system. Energy savings not only offers long term advantages to the owner, they also make every SIPS structure more attractive at a given price.

Because components are dimensioned accurately, construction time is used on erecting, not correcting mistakes. All of these factors add up to efficiency for the builder and greater value for the homeowner.
